2005 Old Vine Shiraz
A perfectly balanced, rich, powerful wine. Generous mulberry, blackberry, pepper and spice flavours support the supple tannins. Time in the bottle will result in a refined and silky wine of elegance and length. The wine is produced from vines planted in Victoria in the late 1860's.
The 2005 Old Vine Shiraz is hand harvested; hand plunged, fermented in small tubs, and shows all the signs of an expert craftsman. It is only produced in years when we consider the quality second to none.
The colour indicates a wine of serious structure. Perfumed nose –top note of violets followed by plum, spice and blackberry witha touch of raspberry as an end note. On the palate, this wine is perfectly balanced, rich, powerful and generous. Excellent length and depth with flavours of blackberry, confectionary, spice and black pepper supported by very fine grained tannins. Exceptionally long aftertaste of spice and black pepper elevate this wine to icon status.
